MyTrainingDesk is a training app for endurance athletes. This page says what it keeps about you, where, who else handles it and how to have it removed. Questions: contact@mytrainingdesk.com.
What is kept
- Your account: name, email address and a hash of your password (never the password itself).
- Your training: sessions and their files, plans, races, zones, notes, health readings from your watch (heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep, weight) and your conversations with the coach.
- The sign-in to your TrainingPeaks account, so the app can read your sessions and send planned ones to your watch.
- If you turn on notifications: the address your browser gives for them.
- If you created your account on this site: what you said you're training for, and how you heard about the app if you said so. If you came by a link that names where it was posted (a Reddit post, say) or by an ad, your browser keeps that name (or "Google Ads") for 30 days and it is kept with your account; the ad's own click code is never kept.
- Visiting the site: each arrival is counted by where it came from (the name in the link, or the site that linked here), and each page's views are counted too, as totals per day. Nothing ties them to you: no address, no browser, no cookie. Your browser only remembers, for this tab, that your arrival was counted. Sign-ins are counted as a total per day too.
- What a visit does: the pages opened, the time spent on each, the steps of the demo and of the first sign-in, under a random number your browser keeps for this tab only and forgets when it closes. Kept 90 days, with where the visit came from and whether it was a phone. No address, no browser details, no name: one visit can't be tied to another, or to you. No cookie is used for it.
- Trying the demo: nothing about you. Each visit is counted, and what it does in the demo is kept as above, without your address or anything else.
Who sees it
Only you see your training. The person who runs the app can see that your account works (when it last synced, whether sessions reach the watch) but not your conversations or notes. Nothing is sold, and there are no ads and no tracking or analytics scripts.
Where it is kept and who handles it
- The app and its data: a server at Hetzner in Helsinki, Finland (EU), with backups at Hetzner in the EU.
- Email (sign-in codes, invites, account notices, password resets): Zoho Mail, EU data centre.
- The coach: when you ask it something, or it writes your weekly review, the parts of your training it needs are sent to Anthropic's Claude API (United States) to write the answer.
- TrainingPeaks: your sessions are read from, and planned sessions sent to, your own TrainingPeaks account.
- Notifications go through your browser maker's push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla).
- The pages load their typeface from Google Fonts.
Cookies
One, needed for the app to work: it keeps you signed in. Trying the demo sets the same cookie for a few hours, signed in to the demo's made-up athlete. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Removing your data
You can disconnect TrainingPeaks and delete your account in the app's Settings. Deleting your account removes your training and conversations from the app; backups that hold them expire within 30 days. For anything else, write to contact@mytrainingdesk.com.
